Today we are introducing you to a colleague who, with passion, calm and impressive organizational skills, ensures that our customers in the Hygiene and occupational safety are well looked after: Barbara Oliveira, in the back office of PRODINGER Verpackung AG since 2023.

How it all began

Barbara came to PRODINGER on the recommendation of a former colleague and had an exciting background: she previously worked in occupational safety at a manufacturer of safety helmets and safety goggles. After the company was sold, she started looking for a new job. There were two vacancies at PRODINGER and after discussions with Helmut Sillmann and Tobias Sommer the decision was made quickly:

Barbara started in the Cardboard packaging / internal sales service, at the same time as her colleague Chukwudi Mmojekwu, who took over the purchasing / warehouse department. Thanks to this time, she now has a deep understanding of the entire cardboard packaging product group.

When a change was due in the team, a new opportunity opened up for Barbara: she took over the Hygiene & occupational safety and found her passion there.

Your tasks today

Barbara is responsible for the following tasks:

• Purchase and sale of hygiene products and occupational safety
• Customer service and advice
• Processing of orders
• Coordination with other departments, especially purchasing
• Support for colleagues in the field, especially Guido Trebbin

She takes her role very seriously. Especially because she is the only member of the office staff responsible for this area. Quality, cleanliness in the processes and reliable workflows are extremely important to her.

She says that she particularly enjoys working with Guido Trebbin. The two are a well-coordinated duo in industrial hygiene. «Working with him is simply fun, and alongside the work there are always funny, personal moments that lighten and simplify everything.» She really appreciates this connection, she says.

They also get on extremely well, which is probably due to their shared Portuguese connection: Guido has Portuguese roots in his family and Barbara comes directly from Portugal. Barbara is always happy to accompany Guido during customer meetings and to benefit from his experience.

Favorite works

Barbara particularly loves the following things about her work:

• the direct contact with customers and suppliers
• the Solving problems, before they arise
• the Simplify processes for your customers
• Enabling savings and creating added value for the customer
• the great and respectful cooperation in the team

Barbara loves to set things up in a structured and clean way. Here's an example of this: when a responsible buyer changed at a customer, she independently created a complete overview of articles, prices and framework agreements. The customer was delighted.

What makes Barbara tick in the team

She describes her team as Helpful, competent and motivated. She sees herself as a calm, reliable person who takes responsibility, especially for „her“ area of hygiene.

A small detail that makes many colleagues smile: Barbara prefers to work to music and hums happily to herself. Her positive energy is infectious.

Focus on customer dialog

When working with our customers, it is particularly important to Barbara that every customer feels understood and well looked after. She attaches great importance to ensuring that no one has to make repeated inquiries and that feedback is provided quickly, competently and reliably.

Barbara's calm and friendly manner creates trust and ensures that customers feel they are in good hands.

Instead of long emails, Barbara prefers to pick up the phone because she finds that a direct conversation allows you to recognize more quickly what is really important to the customer - and to tackle challenges immediately and in a solution-oriented way.

When Barbara is not in the office, she can be found weight training at the gym, listening to music at home, shopping or eating out. She loves sushi and Italian cuisine). Her family is the most important thing to her. Barbara is an only child and often supports her parents in everyday life. She also enjoys spending time with friends.

  (she is particularly enthusiastic about the ICON washroom concept)

Barbara's favorite product?
Clearly: The ICON towel roll dispenser. This is a system that is visually modern, works reliably and offers great savings potential for customers.
