Disposal / Recycling

Our packaging are usually labeled with a recycling code. This code provides information about the material used and enables clear assignment to the appropriate disposal route.

General information on the disposal of packaging

For optimum recycling, it is important to separate and dispose of packaging correctly.

Please observe the following basic rules:

  • Empty packaging as completely as possible
  • Separate different materials from each other
  • Remove components that are not part of the main material before disposal (e.g. adhesive tape, labels, films or document pockets)
  • Dispose of packaging according to its material in the designated collection systems

By separating your waste correctly, you can make an important contribution to the high-quality recycling of materials.

Please also note the applicable local disposal regulations. In case of doubt, please contact the responsible waste disposal company or the municipal recycling center.

Disposal of typical shipping packaging

Shipping carton (corrugated cardboard - PAP 20)

  • Disposal: Waste paper collection
  • Note: Remove adhesive tapes, labels, foils and document pockets if possible

Paper padding / filling material (PAP 22)

  • Disposal: Waste paper collection
  • Note: Only dispose of clean paper in waste paper

Plastic shipping bags (e.g. LDPE - PE-LD 04)

  • Disposal: Plastic collection (if available)
  • Note: Dispose of packaging as clean and empty as possible. Do not dispose of in waste paper!

Bubble wrap (LDPE - PE-LD 04)

  • Disposal: Plastic collection
  • Note: Do not dispose of with paper!

Document pouches (plastic, e.g. PE)

  • Disposal: Plastic collection
  • Note: Separate from cardboard before disposal. Do not dispose of in waste paper!

Adhesive tape

  • Depending on the material:
    • Plastic adhesive tape → Plastic collection (if recyclable film)
    • Adhesive paper tape → Waste paper
  • Note: Always remove the plastic adhesive tape from the box if possible
Our recycling traffic light shows you at a glance how well different packaging materials can be recycled:

Green

Materials that are highly recyclable and can be reliably processed in the standard collection systems (e.g. PET, glass, cardboard, aluminum).

Yellow

Materials that can only be recycled to a limited extent or are not collected everywhere. Special care must be taken when disposing of them.

Red

Materials that can hardly or not at all be recycled. These belong in the garbage and should be avoided wherever possible.

Good recyclability

  • PET (01)
  • HDPE (02)
  • LDPE (04)
  • PP (05)
  • Paper / cardboard (PAP20)

  • Glass (GL71)
  • Glass (GL72)
  • Aluminum (41)
  • Ferrous metals (40)
  • Wood (FOR50-54, depending on condition)

Limited recyclability

  • Polystyrene PS (06)
  • Textiles (TEX60)
  • Textiles (TEX61)
  • - Composite materials with recycling option (e.g. milk cartons, C/*80)

Hardly or not recyclable

  • PVC (03)
  • "Other Plastics" (07)
