Team Leader and Packaging Specialist: The Link Between People and Products

Marco Casaluci has been with PRODINGER Verpackung AG in Pratteln since January 2025. As Team Leader for Packaging and Hygiene, he brings not only many years of experience in the packaging industry but also extensive expertise in adhesive tapes, strapping, and packaging processes. Marco is particularly valued not only for his expertise but, above all, for his open manner and team spirit.

From PRODINGER Germany to Switzerland

Marco has been familiar with the packaging industry for many years. He previously worked at PRODINGER in Germany, where his areas of expertise included adhesive tapes, labels, and pallets. As a result, he brought a wealth of experience and product knowledge with him when he moved to Switzerland.

The connection to the Swiss branch had existed for some time. Tobias Sommer already knew Marco from previous professional contacts. There were also repeated points of contact through Marc Flaig and Kai-Uwe Krieg.

Later, Marco met his current partner, Stefanie Bott, at a supplier event. At the time, Stefanie was already working in the hygiene division at PRODINGER Verpackung AG. With the birth of their daughter Emilia in March 2024 and a restructuring within the team, the opportunity finally arose for Marco to succeed Kai-Uwe Krieg.

He has been supporting the team in Pratteln as the Packaging and Hygiene Team Leader since January 2025.

Team Leader with Practical Experience

With the new team structure at PRODINGER Verpackung AG, the departments were reorganized. Marco took over as head of the Packaging and Hygiene team and has been contributing his expertise and organizational skills on a daily basis ever since.

His responsibilities include, among other things:

• Supporting the team in their day-to-day operations
• Evaluation of New Suppliers and Backup Solutions
• Ensuring Stable Supply Chains
• Coordination of Master Data and Processes
• Assistance with product selection and custom solutions
• Introduction of New Products and Alternatives

Colleagues and customers benefit from his extensive practical knowledge, especially when it comes to topics such as strapping and adhesive tapes.

„If I've seen a solution before, I can often recall it quickly and apply it appropriately.“

Specialist in Adhesive Tapes and Strapping

His greatest expertise lies in the areas of adhesive tapes and strapping. He also has extensive knowledge of pallets and load securing.

Marco finds the combination of different products particularly exciting:

„A box with the right tape, on the right pallet, and neatly strapped: It’s the combination of these elements that makes the packaging solution complete.“

This focus on comprehensive solutions also shapes his day-to-day work.

Collaboration as equals

For Marco, people are clearly the focus, both internally and externally. He says, „What I enjoy most is working with colleagues, customers, and suppliers—anything that has to do with people.“

Within the team, he consciously takes on a unifying role. Dealing with different personalities, various age groups, and individual needs is part of his daily routine as a team leader.

„It's important to me to listen and include everyone.“

Anyone who works with Marco quickly realizes that he brings energy to the team, creates a positive atmosphere, and is always open to discussion. Whether in day-to-day work or during internal challenges, Marco actively participates and fosters team cohesion.

Customer Contact: Understanding, Not Just Selling

When interacting with customers, Marco places particular importance on conveying information in a way that is easy to understand.

„The customer should feel understood and valued,“ he emphasizes.

His goal is not just to offer products, but to work together to develop solutions. This advisory role is particularly crucial when it comes to more technical topics such as strapping or specialty adhesive tapes.

One example that has particularly stuck with him: He was able to arrange a special adhesive tape solution for a food product at short notice. This later led to an ongoing partnership involving additional projects.

Collaboration Across Teams

Internally, Marco also emphasizes proactive communication and short lines of communication. Close coordination with the field sales team is particularly important to him.

For example, if a customer requests a demo of an EasyStrap strapping machine, the responsible sales representative is brought in early on. This allows any additional requirements to be clarified directly together.

„Good communication ensures that the customer ultimately gets the best solution.“

Motivation: Responsibility and Trust

What Marco appreciates most about his work at PRODINGER is the considerable freedom he has to act and the trust within the company. „You don’t have to ask for approval for every little thing.“

New ideas, new products, or suggestions for improvement are taken seriously and actively discussed. At the same time, he values the flexibility and the opportunity to work independently.

Balance in Nature and with Family

In his personal life, Marco enjoys spending time with his family. Together with Stefanie and their daughter Emilia, they’re currently focusing mainly on shared experiences.

When he has time, Marco enjoys swimming, hiking, and biking. Scuba diving has also been one of his hobbies for many years. Among other places, he has been to the Maldives several times and enjoys diving in the Mediterranean.

Our next vacation is already set: We're heading to Denmark in our camper.

Packaging is becoming more complex and exciting

Marco is following developments related to PPWR, EUDR, and new regulatory requirements with great interest. „The legal framework makes many things more complex. But that’s exactly what makes it exciting,“ he says.

He sees major challenges for the entire industry, particularly in the area of sustainability.

A look into the future

Looking ahead, Marco hopes for one thing above all else: that the team will continue to work together fairly, openly, and honestly.

He also views economically challenging times and technological changes—such as artificial intelligence—as challenges that can only be overcome by working together.
