Team leader cardboard packaging and creative packaging solutions

Helmut Sillmann has been associated with the packaging industry for over 20 years. He joined PRODINGER Verpackung AG in Switzerland in April 2022. Today, he heads the cardboard packaging team in the back office and is the contact person for constructive packaging solutions.

From Germany to Switzerland

His first position at PRODINGER took Helmut to Freiburg im Breisgau in 2000. At that time still outside the industry, he joined the purchasing and sales of cardboard packaging and quickly found joy in the world of packaging. After a few years, he returned to public administration, but always remained in contact with colleagues from the industry. In 2004, he returned to PRODINGER Germany, where he ultimately managed 13 employees. He finally came to PRODINGER Verpackung AG in Switzerland via Tobias Sommer and Benjamin Vögtler.

Creative solutions instead of price wars

Today, Helmut is team leader in the cardboard packaging division. His heart beats especially for the creative side of packaging:

„What gives me the most pleasure is when a customer comes to us with a product and we develop customized packaging for it together. That's more than just a price comparison. It's about advice, ideas and the best solution.“

For Helmut, customer satisfaction means that customers and suppliers feel that they are in good hands. He attaches particular importance to Appreciation and partnership, be it in customer contact, in team leadership or in cooperation with suppliers.

His office team

Helmut describes his team as „a great mix of experience and fresh ideas“. Together with Marc Flaig, Björn Heinzler, Johanna Sillmann, Sabrina Klotter and Louisa Meier, he works every day to provide customers with the best possible service. As a cooperative manager, he relies on freedom, initiative and open communication: strengths should be used and weaknesses addressed constructively.

Looking ahead

For Helmut, sustainability, automation and artificial intelligence are the most exciting developments of the future. „Change is not always easy, but with an open mind and the right attitude, we can seize opportunities,“ he concludes

And privately?

Helmut loves outdoor activities: e-biking through the Dolomites, hiking in the Swiss mountains or excursions to Alsace. If he hadn't found his way into the packaging industry, he might have become a teacher, forester or landscape gardener.
